PARKERSBURG -Parkersburg police are investigating reports of multiple shots fired Thursday morning in the 800 block of Lynn Street.

According to a release from Parkersburg police Sgt. Greg Collins, officers were dispatched to a call of multiple gunshots in the 800 block of Lynn Street around 4:15 a.m. Officers arrived in less than a minute with all persons involved gone on arrival.

Collins said officers spoke to three witnesses who advised there was an altercation between multiple people in two separate vehicles outside Wild Suzi's in the 800 block of Seventh Street.

According to the release, witness reports said occupants of a large, dark colored SUV, possibly a Lincoln Navigator, fired shots toward the occupants of a smaller, light colored SUV that was traveling north on Lynn Street. The smaller SUV reportedly stopped with a black male exiting the vehicle and returning fire toward the bar.

Officers were able to locate several fired shell casings from two different types of weapons. Forty caliber shell casings were located in the 800 block of Lynn Street, and .50-caliber shell casings were located in the parking lot and on the sidewalk in front of Wild Suzi's bar.

Multiple detectives were working on the incident. There were no reported injuries and, there has been no bullet damage located on any property.

Law enforcement are very familiar with the two-block area of Seventh Street, encompassing Wild Suzi's and Uncle Mike's Bar. The area has accounted for almost 491 calls since 2010, according to Collins. According to call sheets Collins pulled from 911, officers have been called to Wild Suzi's 369 times. He said those calls include a variety of issues: fights, ambulance calls and field interviews.

About two weeks ago, officers were called there in response to a stabbing. William Joseph Bevans of Reading, Pa., was arrested after allegedly stabbing 22-year-old Richard Swiger of Parkersburg while they were outside Wild Suzi's bar on Seventh Street.

Collins said it is unknown if the incident is related to a drive-by shooting incident on Grafton Street last month.

Michelle Marie Curran, 24, of Parkersburg, was arrested by detectives on a felony charge of wanton endangerment involving a firearm, related to the drive-by. According to a criminal complaint, police allege Curran fired about eight rounds from a firearm into 816 Grafton St. in Parkersburg on the morning of July 26.
