Rachel Nicole Bartlett, 26, of Gahanna, Ohio, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Ohio State University Medical Center.
She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of Steve and Beverly (Smith) Walker of Belpre, Ohio. She graduated from Belpre High School where she was a drum major and was on the softball team. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from DeVry Institute and worked for the Ohio State Department of Taxation. She played softball for the Army Wives team at Fort Campbell, Ky. She enjoyed the outdoors, four wheeling, mountain biking and Zumba. She loved spending time with her family, friends and her dear dog, Rusty.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Justin; two brothers, Bryan Walker of Belpre and Randy Hapney (Lisa) of Knoxville, Tenn.; a nephew, Nathan Hapney; a niece, Olivia Hapney; her mother and father-in-law, Paul and Terry Bartlett of Belpre, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Wesley and Ernestine Walker of Belpre; maternal grandmother, Agnes Smith of West Union, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Shaun Bartlett of Columbus, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Donald Smith.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Burial will be at Rockland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Monday two hours prior to the service.
