WEST UNION - Authorities are investigating a shooting near W.Va 18 in Doddridge County.
A news release from the Doddridge County Sheriff's office Tuesday morning confirmed three people are dead and a juvenile suspect is in custody.
"The case in under investigation and details will be released as they become available," Deputy C.W. Mocdesitt stated in the release.
Officials declined to release the names of those involved. Media outlets are reporting those involved in the shooting were members of the same family.
The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. Monday evening, according to reports. The West Virginia State Police and Doddridge County Sheriff's Department responded.
A call to the Doddridge County detachment of the State Police was referred to the sheriff's department.
A receptionist at the sheriff's office said officials were not releasing information. The woman who answered the phone said additional information may be released later today after officials "had time to catch their breath."
"It's kind of a touchy situation."
