Michael D. Adams, 54, of St. Marys, died Sept. 1, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Born on Dec. 18, 1957, in Seattle, Wash., he was son of Bette Stovall Adams and the late Fred Adams.
He was a 1976 graduate of St. Marys High School. He worked at Solvay Advanced Polymers and was an active member and former vice president of the Local 14200 Steel Workers Union. He dedicated many years of his life as an advocate for the rights of workers.
Survivors other than his mother include three children, Michelle (Kevin) Parsons of Belmont, Matthew Adams of St. Marys and Megan (Richard) Makepeace of Houma, La.; twin brother, Rick (Cheryl) Adams of Belmont; one sister, Janie (Jeff) Wise of Belmont; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Devan and Ethan.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ted.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery, Park Section. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
