James Albert Jordan, 76, of Parkersburg, died Aug. 31, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born July 5, 1936, in Barberton, Ohio, a son of the late James Ashford and Lenoria Belle Hopkins Jordan.
He worked for Elkem for 25 years and was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, Class of 1955. He also enjoyed four-wheeling, motorcycles and spending time at his log cabin in Wirt County.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Jordan; three children, Robert Jordan of Parkesburg, Joyce (Randy) Somerville of Elizabeth and James (Sue Ann) Jordan of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Cristopher and Katlin Somerville, Joshua Jordan and Dimitris Merissiotis; two great-grandchildren, Rylie-Ann Somerville and Aubrey Fordyce; special nephew, Roger Jordan of Parkesburg; and two sisters, Burdia Prather of Vienna and Irene West of Parkersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Earl Jordan.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkesburg, with Pastor Eddie Leasure officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
