RAVENSWOOD - Members of United Steelworkers Local 5668, who are on strike from Constellium Rolled Products, will have meetings today to discuss insurance options and coverage while they are on strike.
The informational meetings will be held to discuss the Emergency Medical Plan (EMP) insurance and hold a vote on it, according to the union's website.
The meetings will be at 7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Local 5668 Union Hall at 52 Nu-Chance Drive in Ravenswood. These meetings are restricted to members of Local 5668 only.
The company and union representatives have been in contract talks since May, but could not come to an agreement for around 700 employees at the Ravenswood plant. The company presented its final offer to the union on Aug. 1 with the strike starting Aug. 5.
Messages were left by phone and email for Local 5668 officials with none immediately responding Thursday evening.
