PARKERSBURG - The inaugural Point Park Music Series wraps up with "1964," the world-renowned Beatles tribute Band at 8 p.m. today at the amphitheater at Point Park.
The concert follows performances by Frank Sinatra, ABBA, Tom Jones, Ray Charles, Frankie Valli and Elton John impersonators. The concerts have filled the area in front of the amphitheater.
The Elton John show was last week and like last week, additional sound equipment will be in place so the audience along the promenade and boaters on the river can hear the music, said Ann Conageski, an organizer and development director for the city of Parkersburg.
"These improvements were made after getting feedback from concert goers on the city's website and Facebook page," Conageski said. "And that's why organizers are putting together a survey to get people's feedback for next year."
Organizers will distribute surveys to visitors as they enter for the Point Park concert. The survey is straightforward with less than 10 questions.
"It should only take folks a few minutes to fill out," said Rickie Yeager, planning administrator for the city of Parkersburg. "People's input is very important to us. We want to know what type of music people prefer and what entertainers, bands, acts or performances people want to see."
For those who cannot attend this Friday's show, organizers are making the survey available online at www.pointparkmusic.com and at the city's website and Facebook page at www.parkersburgcity.com.
The surveys will be accepted through Sept. 9. The information will be used to schedule next year's performances.
