Karla Sue Brammer and Hesham Ezzat Khalifa were united in marriage on April 21 at Ponte Winery, Temecula, Calif. The bride's brother, Kurt Brammer, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Kay Brammer of Lowell. She is a 2002 graduate of Marietta High School, a 2006 graduate of Ohio State University and a 2011 graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a doctorate in materials science engineering. She is a scientist and the director of research and development at Diversified Nano Corp.
The bridegroom is the son of Ez and Shadia Khalifa of Manlius, N.Y. He is a 2000 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, a 2004 graduate of Cornell University and a 2009 graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a doctorate in materials science engineering. He is a scientist at General Atomics.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore an ivory silk chiffon dress with a soft drape and crepe-like texture. She carried a vintage inspired bouquet of white roses with green and gray accents.
The maid of honor was sister of the bride, Carrie Brammer.
Serving as best man was Kareem Khalifa, brother of the bridegroom.
A reception followed in the winery pavilion.
After a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple reside in La Jolla, Calif.
