HARRISVILLE - A Ritchie County man perished in a vehicle accident earlier this week when his truck ran off the road and rolled over an embankment.
According to a release from the Ritchie County Sheriff's Office, Jason Campbell, 38, of Ellenboro, died as the result of a single-vehicle accident on Oxford Road, near Pullman Tuesday night.
Sheriff's Sgt. Doyle Munday and Deputy Todd Jackson were dispatched to the scene around 9:30 p.m.
A witness stated Campbell's 1998 GMC Sierra truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it ran off the road, over an embankment and rolled over.
"The witness stated he checked for a pulse and couldn't find one, at which time he asked a local resident to call 911," the release states.
