PARKERSBURG -More than donations have been offered for the SW Resources 31st annual Harvest of Opportunities Benefit Auction on Aug. 25.
"This year, for the first time, we have items handmade by our client-employees with recycled material," said Ben Summers, SW Resources marketing and sales manager.
The auction last year, which set a record for donated items, was dedicated to the late Sammy Burdette for 40 years of service to the agency. Burdette passed away in November.

"The auction was Sammy's baby and since it's the first year without her, it is bittersweet," Summers said. "We continue to honor the great work Sammy did and will think of her during the auction."
Last year the auction netted about $95,000 for the agency with the hopes this year's will raise a similar amount.
The handmade items by the client-employees include throw rugs made from old shirts and other cloth and a photo produce by gluing minute pieces of magazine clippings together.
