Ellen E. Thistle, 97, of 104 Work Street, Sistersville, died Sunday at her home.
She was born in Sistersville on Nov. 24, 1914, a daughter of the late Evart F. and Frances Soliday Thistle. Ellen was a retired dedicated employee of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association in Sistersville since 1936.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Thistle and William Thistle; and a sister, Janet Thistle. Ellen is survived by a sister, Mary Thistle Robinson, Sistersville; three nephews, James (Julia) Thistle, Brazil, Ind., Alan (Siri) Robinson, Pittsburgh, Pa. and H. Brian Robinson, Minneapolis, Minn.; two nieces, Nancy (John) Ibberson, Terre Haute, Ind. and Lissa (David) Furbee, Alma; great-nephews, James F. Thistle, Ashland City, Tenn., D. Luke Furbee, Middlebourne, J. Rob Furbee, Alma and Sara Berninger, Covington, Ky.
