Naomi Opal Stewart, 79, of Parkersburg, passed away Aug. 4, 2012, at Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility in Parkersburg, where she currently resided.

She was born Oct. 17, 1932 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Clarence and Sarah (Gard) Greenwalt. Mrs. Stewart retired from the Colin Anderson Center after spending her career working as a Registered Nurse. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High and the St. Joseph's School of Nursing. Naomi was kind and caring, always cheerful and liked helping others. She loved gardening, flowers and enjoyed her family and friends.

Surviving are her sons, Samuel (Carla) Stewart of Vienna and Thomas (Jane) Stewart of Conroe, Texas; four grandchildren, Kelley Stewart of Belpre, Ohio, Adam (Ashley) Stewart of Martinsburg, W.Va. and Thomas Stewart Jr. and Matthew Stewart, both of Virginia; a great-grandchild, Camilla Stewart; and sisters, Carol (Robert) Turnbull and Judy (James) Linger, both of Parkersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Stewart; and brothers, John and Clarence Greenwalt. She also found joy in her second husband, William Hinzman, who also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with her nephew, Brian Stewart officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 11 a.m. - 1p.m. Following services, she will be cremated and her remains laid to rest with her family in the New Mount Olive Cemetery at Burnthouse.
