Chuck Bibbee

Charles E. "Chuck" Bibbee, 87, of the Hope Hill Community, passed away Aug. 5, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Wood County on July 12, 1925, a son of the late Carl D. and Dora Ethel Barnhouse Bibbee. Chuck was a member of the 36th Street Church of Christ in Vienna and retired from GE Plastics with 18 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, having served in the European Theater. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Schultz Bibbee; one son, Evangelist Kevin (Kamy) Bibbee of Hickory, N.C.; one daughter, Pamela (Rick) Kellar of Williamstown; two step-sons, Mark (Marsha) Roberts of Vienna and Steven (Rhonda) Roberts of Ravenswood; two step-daughters, Brenda (Scott) Smith of Hickory, N.C. and Rebecca (Brian) Pasch of Sunrise, Fla.; four grandchildren, Christopher (Kristen Alastanos) Kellar, Megan Bibbee, Kaylan Bibbee and Morgan Bibbee; three step-grandchildren, Paul Roberts, Jasmine Roberts and Timothy Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Blake Roberts, Vicky Roberts and Kenson Roberts; two brothers, Donald (Carol) Bibbee of Vienna and Bernard (Patsy) Bibbee of Walker; three sisters, Glenna Maxine Allman of Vienna, Wilma (Vernon) Ault of Marietta and Wanda Mae (Danny) Darnold of Vienna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Westbrook Bibbee; three brothers, Howard Dale Bibbee, James Russell Bibbee and Harold Wade Bibbee; and an infant sister, Barbara Ann Bibbee.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg. Evangelist Mark Mason and his son, Evangelist Kevin Bibbee will officiate. Burial will follow at the Willow Island Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion, Post #15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
