According to independent tax experts, Mitt Romney's $5 trillion tax plan would force an average $2,000 tax hike on middle-class families with children in order to pay for his budget-busting tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.
President Obama's approach. He has a plan that extends middle-class tax cuts, while asking the wealthy to pay a little more. It's part of a balanced plan to cut more than $4 trillion from the deficit.
Romney says he'll pay for tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires by closing tax deductions and other tax benefits. But he's not talking about loopholes like the ones that benefit the wealthiest Americans, like himself. He's talking about taxing the health insurance people get from their employers, eliminating the deduction for child care credit and the earned income tax credit and the deductions that helps families pay off their mortgage.
I'm too poor to vote Republican.
