Mary Joanne Watson, 65, of Parkersburg, passed away July 29, 2012, at the Ross Heart Center at OSU Hospital in Columbus.
She was born May 9, 1947, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Ira J. and Mary Lou Metz Deem.
Mary was a graduate of Parkersburg High School with the class of 1966. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and doll collecting. She formerly bowled at Emerson Lanes on the Women's Classic League and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a former member of Grace Gospel Church and presently a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry C. Watson; one daughter, Janelle (Brian) Schimke of Parkersburg; twin sons, Brian (Ann) Watson of Washington, W.Va., and Brent Watson (Christy) of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Kylie McDaniel, Jordan Watson, Brittany Schimke, Vincent Watson and Jake Watson; one sister, Frances (Mike) Chipps of Parkersburg; one brother, Duane (Cindy) Deem of Ripley, W.Va.; two aunts, Kate White of Williamstown and Sharon Williams of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Paul and Mary Watson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Jon Lands and Pastor Mike Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
