Katherine "Kathy" K. Day, 55, of New Martinsville, W.Va., died July 28, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus in Parkersburg.
"Kathy" was born Jan. 2, 1957, in Parkersburg, daughter of Donna Berry Keffer and the late William Clifford Keffer.
She was a custodian at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in New Martinsville and Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Paden City, a WVU graduate with degrees in social work, psychology and early childhood education, an independent consultant for Party Lite and leader for Avon and a Methodist by faith.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Alyssa Megan Reel; and brother, Chris Keffer.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are her son, Alex McClelland (Anna Ellis) Reel of Morgantown; special friends for many years, Wilma Taylor, Vickie Dotson, Char Talbott, Twila Wolf, Kathryn Starkey; Gregory Reel, Ervin "Pete" Day and Jim; and her four precious cats.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with the Rev. Dr. Victor Hunter and Fr. Jim McCafferty co-officiating. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Interment will be in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown.
