John Edgar Hagerty, 68, of Parkersburg, passed away on Thursday July 19, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.
He was born Nov. 22, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late John Edgar Hagerty and Dorothy Jean Sodders Hagerty Sutton.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired construction worker. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Russell of Parkersburg; one son, Jason (Paula) Hagerty of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; two sisters, Carol (Bill) Wilcox of Elizabeth, W.Va. and Peggy Nutter of Parkersburg; two brothers, Robert Sutton and Jack Sutton, both of Parkersburg; and four grandchildren, Michael and Jodi Hagerty, both of Mineral Wells, and Christian and Gabrielle Russell, both of Marlinton, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy Sodders, David M. Sutton and Denver Sutton; and two sisters, Nellie Jean "Tonda" Pryor and Joy D. Moore.
Memorial services will be 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at South Parkersburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Brown officiating.
