A prelude to an end of an era was to be showcased for the history books. Today, it is a mirror reprise of - that is - the beginning of the end. We watch in awe and amazement, but fail to lay this tableau out for full viewing; because we cannot believe our very eyes that a win at Concord was but a great beginning to a war to make every citizen a whole man.
This next end of an era (great as it has been) we will pit our Red against Blue. The end will not be nice. This need not happen. We've got four months to get wise to our predicament. A sea-change of thought needs to occur. Save our country first, then our states, towns and families. Then we take our great ingenuity and powerful faith to make each person equal to all others.
When you go to a doctor you are not a dollar sign, but a patient. When you get your Social Security check it is your money not a gift from Uncle Sam. I must add that the problem of Social Security is our House. As Al Gore said so long ago, "We need to put Social Security money in a lock box." It is the same today. Your child's future depends on this. You must remember only if you pay in to Social Security, and how much, determines what you or your family get in return.
Medicare and employee-paid unemployment is a benefit paid for by you out of your pay check. This is not an entitlement - has never been an entitlement - nor will it be. When our House of Representatives is only a thing of the past will we move ahead as a nation.
Our country is the wagon we all want to be behind - pushing forward to the greatest of futures.
