Susan Stella Haught Ubbens, 73, of Harrisville, died July 19, 2012, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville, W.Va.
She was born May 7, 1939 at Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late Chester and Anna Malkowski. She worked as a supervisor for 28 years at Economy Industries, Harrisville and owned and operated with her husband a candy business called Premium Delights out of their home. She was a member of First Assembly of God, Harrisville.
Susan is survived by her second husband, Herbert Ubbens; sons, Calvin Haught of Houma, La., Raymond Haught of Ellenboro, Carol Haught Jr. of Harrisville and Carlos Haught of Macfarlan; daughters, Kathy McDonald (Frank) of Smithville and Annalisa Dobbins (Edward) of Ellenboro; step-children, Brett Ubbens of Vienna, Herb Ubbens and Tara Ubbens, both of North Carolina; brothers, Raymond Malkowski of Austin, Texas and Chester Malkowski Jr. of Philadelphia; sisters, Delores McHale and Rita Allen, both of Philadelphia, and Pat Thomashefsky of Sewell, N.J.; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carol Leon Haught; and son, Richard Haught.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Raiguel Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Deem Cemetery, Beatrice. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday.
