Marjorie M. Kent, 91, of Sandyville, passed away July 13, 2012, at Ravenswood Care Center surrounded by family following a long illness.
She was born July 12, 1921, at Indianapolis, a daughter of the late William A. Martin and Helen N. Stephenson Martin.
She was employed as a secretary with the Civil Service and worked at many military bases while her husband served in the United States Air Force. She enjoyed doing crafts including toll painting, needlepoint, ceramics and crocheting. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Ripley.
She was preceded in death by husband, Claude E. Kent; daughter, Vicki Kent; a grandson, Daniel Larry Harrison; and a sister, Eileen Strober.
She is survived by son, C. R. Kent and his wife, Alice, of Sandyville, W.Va.; two daughters, Frances Johnson and her husband, Gene, of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Kay Parsons and her husband, Roger, of Sandyville, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with John Gunther officiating. Burial will be in Kent Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
If desired, memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Kent may be made to the Kanawha Hospice.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ravenswood Care Center and the staff of Kanawha Hospice for the special care given to Mrs. Kent during her time of illness.
