Lawrence Lester Jr., 74, of Petroleum, W.Va., died July 13, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in Pineville, W.Va., a son of the late Lawrence and Lillie (Farley) Lester.
He was a Baptist by faith and loved the outdoors and playing his music.
He is survived by five children, Alvin Lester (Monica) of Davisville, W.Va., Johnny Lester of Petroleum, Loretta Dawson (Dave Clevenger) of Petroleum, William Lester (Lori) of Pennsboro, W.Va., and Lillie Ewing (David) of Lubeck, W.Va.; two sisters, Lou Carte of Braxton County and Laura Harmon of Tennessee; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy (Jackson) Lester; two brothers, William and Garland Lester; an infant brother, Edward Lester; and two sisters, Dayle Marks and Ina Dorresett.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Norman Orr officiating. Burial will be at McPeek Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
