Linda Darlene Barnum Gorrell, 58, of Parkersburg, passed away July 10, 2012, at her residence.
She was born March 29, 1954, in Ravenswood, W.Va., a daughter of Jean Shumway Barnum of Leesburg, Fla., and the late Charles Barnum.
Linda had worked as Personnel Manager for K-Mart Corp./Sears Holding and retired after 27 years of service from the Vienna store. She was a graduate of Williamstown High School and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and with her flowers. She especially enjoyed being around her family and friends.
In addition to her mother, Linda is survived by her husband, David Gorrell; three sons, Jerry Todd (Shelly) of Belpre, Ohio, Gary Gorrell (Sherri) of Lexington, Ky., and David Gorrell (Becca) of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Margaret "Peg" Bunner of Raleigh, N.C.; three brothers, Tim Barnum (Carol) and Greg Barnum (Debbie), all of Marietta, Ohio, and Frank Barnum of Stowe, Ohio; a granddaughter, Samantha Gorrell; and a grandson, Gary Scott Gorrell.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Neil Buchlein officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg. There will be a rosary service at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
