Jaykob Logyn Carter, 3, of Kenna, went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2012, after a courageous battle with congenital heart disease.
A miracle from birth, he left a lasting impression of strength and courage to everyone's lives he touched.
He is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Stephanie (Pauley) Carter of Kenna; brother, Ryan, at home; paternal grandparents, Larry and Shirley Carter of Portland, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Steve and Mary Pauley of Kenna; maternal great-grandparents, Ernest and Mary Pauley of Dunbar; aunts and uncles, Jim and Tracy Hall of Portland, Ohio, Chris and Lisa Bird of Ravenswood, Tricia Lucas of Morristown, Tenn., Karen Moore of Middlesboro, Ky., Steve and Lisa Pauley of Kenna and Gary and Jenny Pauley of Kenna; and numerous cousins that loved him dearly.
A celebration of the life of Jaykob is set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Herman Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairplain Cemetery, Fairplain. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
The family would like to thank WVU Childrens Hospital, Drs. Robert Gustafson, Larry Rhodes, Maggie Jaynes, Tammy McKeever, David Rosen, Melvin Wright and Sharmilla Jones, as well as many nurses and staff at WVU Children's Hospital PICU and NICU.
