I have several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who have large student loans. On July 1, the interest rate on subsidized Stafford loans will automatically double, shooting from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent overnight.
Why can the banks borrow money at near-zero interest and John Boehner and Eric Cantor are going to allow student loan interest to double?
It is urgent you contact your legislators before July 1 to help our young people.
