Eddie and Carolyn Byers of Washington will celebrate their 50th anniversary.
They were married June 24, 1962 at the home of the late Pastor Robert Lough of St. Marys, with her brother and sister-in-law Delno and Sara Lou Shingleton as witnesses.
He is the son of the late Burl and Sharlene Byers of Pleasants County and retired from E.I. DuPont.

She is the daughter of the late Earl and Lora Shingleton of St. Marys and is a homemaker.
They are members of Fairlawn Baptist Church and enjoy boating and their river lot.
They are the parents of three children, Matt (Debby) Byers of Parkersburg, Valerie (Greg) Wilson of Lubeck and Jill Byers of Parkersburg.
They have eight grandchildren, one deceased grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren.
A dinner with their family is planned.
