I am writing to say I might consider giving Dr. Law a raise, perhaps not quite so much, if the following conditions were met.
I would like to see my children have a textbook they can use in class and bring home to study with. I would like to see my children have functional computers, printers and software available in the classroom. I would like to see the fees charged to my children associated with bowling and swimming as part of the required physical education curriculum be taken care of.
I would like to see competent teachers recruited and hired to instruct children instead of people who dress like the students, act the age of the students and are unresponsive to parents. There are good teachers in Wood County, but with kids who have attended three different schools, we know who is invested in teaching.
Consider this, would the money voted to go toward an already adequate salary be better used to meet the needs above? We know how the BOE feels.
