Ernest and Phyllis Grimm of the Glenwood Retirement Village in Marietta will celebrate their 70th anniversary on May 30.
They were married on May 30, 1942, by the Rev. T. L. Myers at the home of the bride's parents, Clyde and Myrtle Johnson in Vienna.
He was one of the first employees of the DuPont plant near Parkersburg and retired in 1978 after 33 years of service.

They are the parents of Dr. Penelope (Kjell) Hansen of St. John's Newfoundland, Canada; Andrew (Kate) Grimm of Marietta, and Susan (Tom) Sims of Las Vegas, Nev.
They have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
After retirement, the couple spent their winters in the Florida Keys and summers in Newfoundland and traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, and Hawaii.
