Proffitt - Harper

Katie Nicole Proffitt and Jesse Lee Harper were united in marriage on March 3. Jeff Dorton of Sandyville officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Nancy Proffitt of Parkersburg. She is the granddaughter of Bill Farnsworth and the late Katie Farnsworth of Parkersburg and also of Jim and Kate Proffitt of Parkersburg. She is a 2009 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and is an operator at Frontier Communications.

The groom is the son of Steve Harper of Parkersburg and Alice Harper of Coolville. He is the grandson of Flora Harper and the late Cecil Harper and Orville Nesselrotte and the late Virgie Nesselrotte, all of Parkersburg. He is a 2005 graduate of Parkersburg South and a 2010 graduate of Washington State Community College. He is a diesel mechanic at Central Environment Services.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice heavily embellished with sequins and beads.

It had a high low hem with ruffles cascading into a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white calla lilies.

Maid of honor was Lauren Proffitt, sister of the bride. Best man was Joe Harper, brother of the groom. Flower girl was Grayson Rylee Harper, daughter of the bride and groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the DuPont Employee Recreation Center.

The couple resides in Parkersburg.
