Shirley E. Moss

May 25, 2012
Parkersburg News and Sentinel

Shirley Ellen Moss, 83, of Parkersburg went home to be with her Lord on May 24, 2012, at the Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Feb. 10, 1929 in Spencer, W.Va. She received a second birth in the year 1955 when she received the gift of the holy ghost speaking with other tongues and baptized in the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Following the new birth experience God called her into the ministry in 1977 and she gave herself sacrificially and unreservedly to the work of God for 35 years, she not only loved the work of God but most importantly the God of the work.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Rondol Rayon Moss of Parkersburg; her daughter, Deborah Moss Gann of Belpre; her son, Rondol Rayon Moss II (Brenda) of Nitro, W.Va.; her five grandchildren, Elizabeth Gann Seebaugh (Raymond Jr.) of Davisville, W.Va., Rev. Jason Gann (Teresa) of York, Pa., Rev. Anthony Moss (Shauna) of Charleston, W.Va., Johnathan Moss (Kelly) of Charleston, Lavonda Moss Garrett (Brian) of Nitro; seven great-grandchildren; her brothers, Rev. William Love (Edith) of Charlottesville, Va., and Joseph Love of Spencer; her sister, Linda Hageman (Bill) of Ney, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Dearing and Viola Love, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Love, and her two sisters, Wanda McCrady and Karen Schwender.

A home going service will be held Saturday 1 p.m., at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Rev. Daniel Hopkins officiating and other Apostolic ministers. Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Powderly and the staff of Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all the love and care they showed my wife, our mother and grandmother.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.leavittfuneralhome.com
