In response to Eric Engle published May 13. Does Mr. Engle really believe Mr. Obama is the savior of this country? Or is that what the liberal media told him? How can he sit there and declare he is the solution? Does he not realize he has bankrupted our country, both financially and morally?
He believes Social Security and veterans' benefits are not entitled. Can he explain why? Does he think a worker, who has paid into Social Security all of his/her life, should not receive said benefits when they retire? Does he think Social Security is "just another tax"? Why does he believe veterans, who committed themselves to protecting his liberal viewpoint, should not be offered benefits for their heroism, but a woman who has never worked a day in her life, can have a couple of kids and live off the system the rest of her life? Where's the justification in that?
The last sentence in his first paragraph is truly frightening. "Also at risk is the social welfare state as we know it." This is an outright communistic statement. My government isn't responsible for my welfare. If I wanted someone to be responsible for me, I would have never moved out of my parents' house. This isn't high school. Mr. Engle is responsible for his own actions and his own welfare.
The working class doesn't owe him a thing. If he wants quality health care, he should go get a job that offers coverage, like the rest of us. He's not "entitled" to my tax money. Quit sitting in front of the television being brainwashed by the lame stream media. Go see for yourself what it is like to work for what you have. It's not a free ride.
So go ahead, vote for Obama in 2012. Help send this country into the dark ages. We've fought the last 50 years against the communist threat. So why not let it in now? Forget about the middle class. Separate the poor from the wealth. Take what I have and give it to someone else who won't earn it. Sounds fair, right? Open your eyes. This is America. Land of the free, home of the brave. Not land of the freebies, home of the welfare state.
