The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jeff and Melanie Matheny of Mineral Wells.
She is a 2012 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in English.

She will be pursuing a master's degree in English at Kansas State University in the fall.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Vickie Jarvis of Mineral Wells and Jeff and Janet Beeson of Mineral Wells. He is a doctoratal candidate in the counseling education program at Ohio University. He is set to be an instructor at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan.
A wedding is planned for July 21 at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells.
