Mary Ellen Moore, 82, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died May 4, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Buckhannon.
She was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Cairo, W.Va., the daughter of the late Harvey and Mayme Higgins Sandy.
She had been a supervisor at Pennsboro Manufacturing and was a homemaker. She was a former member of Reynoldsville Baptist Church and a member of the Hebron Grange. She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening.
She is survived by three daughters, Martha Sue Rader of Morgantown, Kathy Lee Howell of Humble, Texas, and Patricia Diane Harvey of Buckhannon; two sons, Charles Harvey "Bud" Moore of St. Marys and Robert Ray Zweck of Crosby, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Moore whom she married July 1947; brothers, Max, Ralph, Lloyd and Bill Sandy; and sisters, Elizabeth Windom and Nina Sandy.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Pastor Robert Perine officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 3-8 p.m.
