Blaine Mackey Sr.

Blaine Maxon Mackey Sr., 77, of Parkersburg, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2012.

He was born in Pike, W.Va., a son of the late Perry Lee and Lucy Pearl (Scott) Mackey.

He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Perry. He was retired from the National Asbestos Workers Local 800, and also operated his own sawmill. He was a member of Williamstown Masonic Lodge 129. He loved the outdoors and restoring tractors.

He is survived by his daughter, Patsy Sue Santee of Parkersburg; three sons, Blaine M. Mackey Jr. of Parkersburg, W.Va., Jimmy Lee Mackey of Walker, W.Va., and Frederick Alan Mackey of Waverly, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bertha E. Moore and Charlotte Piersol.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gertrude Pearl (Cross) Mackey; and two brothers, Perry L. Mackey Jr. and Charles E. Mackey.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Walter D. Minney officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
