Ryan M. Scott, 29, of Smithville, W.Va., died April 20, 2012, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, W.Va., following an auto accident.
He was born June 1, 1982, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the son of Leonard Scott Jr. of Elizabeth, W.Va., and Nedra Riggins of Pennsboro, W.Va.
He was employed as a log grader and buyer for Industrial Timber and Lumber Co. of Belington, W.Va. Ryan was a member of Upper Steer Run Baptist Church of Gilmer County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Erin Scott, Parkersburg, W.Va.; paternal grandmother, Dicie Scott, Smithville, W.Va.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elder Harlen and Hazel Alltop; paternal grandfather, Leonard Scott Sr.; and one uncle, Jim Gill.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, W.Va., with Elder Roger Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in King Knob Cemetery, Mahone, W.Va. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. on the day of the service.
