Paul E. Woodyard

Paul E. "Woody" Woodyard, 46, of Palestine, W.Va., passed away April 14, 2012, as a result of an accident in Palestine, W.Va.

He was born in Wood County, the son of Paul E. and Paulette Wilson Woodyard of Washington, W.Va. He had been employed by the W.Va. Department of Highways and was Baptist by faith. Woody was a wonderful cook with a generous heart and was most happy when he was helping others. He was an avid outdoorsman loving hunting and fishing. He had served as the caretaker for the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery for the past four years.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Dan Woodyard of Palestine, W.Va.; his aunts, uncles, and cousins, Bill and Mary Wilson and family, Wayne McKibben and family, Waverline Kerns and family, Jody and Mike Wheeler and family, Judy Koon and family, Jim and Debbie Woodyard and family, Roy and Melanie Woodyard and family, Barbara and Mike Phillips and family, Lee Waggoner and family, and Patty and Carl Schultz and family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Virginia Woodyard; his maternal grandparents, George Wilson, Beatrice Wilson, Helen Wilson, and Garnet Wilson; and two aunts, May Welch and Barbara McKibben.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens with Rev. Norman Butler officiating.. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
