Valeria A. Pollock, 81, of St. Marys, W.Va., died April 7, 2012 at Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth, Ga.
She was born Aug. 8, 1930 in Sharpsburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Anthony Aloysius and Frances Evelyn Ellwanger Becker. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, as well as the Black Diamond Girl Scout Council, St. Marys Woman's Club, and Eastern Star. Her joys included her family, flower garden, homemade pie with a great cup of coffee, and her beloved dog, Ladybug.
She is survived by four daughters, Karen Bingeman of Stuart, Va., Nancy Bills of St. Marys, W.Va., Betty Jo Slater of Alpharetta, Ga., and Cathy Pollock of Olney, Md.; five grandchildren, Amy Northrop, Jennifer Furr, Bart Bills, Joseph Carpenter, and Mary Young; and seven great-grandchildren, Garrett Furr, Addie Furr, Bernie Northrop, Jacob Northrop, Teddi Northrop, Terra Carpenter, and Aura Carpenter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Pollock, and 11 siblings.
Memorial service will be Friday, at noon at the First Lutheran Church, Parkersburg, with Pastor Ian Reid officiating. Burial will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. There will be calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va. and at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church on Friday.
