PARKERSBURG Three people were sent to the hospital Monday after a two-car wreck at 11 a.m. at the corner of Juliana and Eighth streets.

According to city police, a 1997 Ford Taurus driven by Loretha Vanfossen, 51, of Parkersburg, was westbound on Eighth Street when witnesses reported she ran a red light, striking a northbound Dodge Caravan driven by Timothy Bibbee, 36, of Washington.

Bibbee and his passenger, 41-year-old Florence Underwood, were transported to Camden Clark Medical Center, said Sgt. Greg Collins of the Parkersburg Police Department. Both were being treated in the emergency room Monday evening.

Vanfossen also was taken to the hospital with possible injuries and was cited for running a red light and no proof of insurance, said Collins. Her medical condition was unknown.
