PARKERSBURG -There is no clear suspect in a stabbing incident Wednesday that sent one man to the hospital with knife wounds, police said.
Jerome Leman Brown, 27, and Terrance Maurice Price, 47, were involved in a physical altercation Wednesday behind 1102 Swann St. Both men sustained significant injuries in the fight, and Brown was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center for treatment, said Sgt. Greg Collins, spokesman for the Parkersburg Police Department.
"Names were initially withheld because it wasn't clear at the onset who was the victim and who was the suspect," said Collins. "Witness information did not provide any conclusive details regarding who was clearly at fault."
Both men signed waivers of prosecution, declining to pursue charges against each other, said Collins.
"Even though there is no clear suspect, because of the nature of the incident, detectives will still present all the information gleaned from the investigation to a future session of the Wood County Grand Jury for consideration of prosecution," he said.
There is no clear motive for the fight, he said.
Police responded to 824 Grafton St. around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday to find Brown with a substantial amount of blood on his pants and a belt being used on his leg as a tourniquet. Police said Wednesday the man did not cooperate with police.
