Haynes Bedford Huddleston Sr., 100, of Parkersburg, passed away March 5, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Oct. 4, 1911 in Boomer, W.Va., a son of the late William Huddleston and Bess (White) Huddleston.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and retired from The Wood County Board of Education as a teacher. He was a skilled craftsman that enjoyed working with wood.
He is survived by his son, Haynes B. Huddleston and wife Judy of Parkersburg; daughter, Gail Dittrich and husband Patrick of Granger, Ind.; six grandchildren, Christopher Huddleston, Maria (Huddleston) Becker and Andrew, Kristin Radecki, Anita Smith and Greg, Michael Dittrich, and Heidi Smith and Craig and eight great-grandchildren. He was raised by his uncle and aunt Pete and Belva Kraus.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Hope) Huddleston; six siblings and grandson Eric Dittrich.
Memorial Mass will be Friday, 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Eric Hall as acting celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
