Georgianna Howes Wigal departed this world on Feb. 27, 2012, in Virginia Beach, Va.
She was born in Parkersburg, the daughter of Robert Winfield and Martha Stout Howes.
A former teacher, she taught school in Monongalia and Wood counties. In Virginia Beach, she was employed as the marketing director at First Colonial Inn and most recently as a sales associate at Med Emporium. She was a member of Christ Unity Oceanside in Virginia Beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings. She is survived by three children, Rick Wigal of High Point, N.C., Stephen Wigal of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Jill Haddox of Virginia Beach.
Also surviving are two sisters, Josephine Howes Fauber of New Martinsville, W.Va., and Catherine Howes Stone of Charleston; seven grandchildren, Richard Young of Hilton Head, S.C., Tim Haddox, Andy Haddox and Sam Haddox of Virginia Beach, Morgan Wigal and Robbie Wigal of High Point, and Kanon Wigal of Palm Beach Gardens; cousins Josie Wildi and Paula Wildi of Parkersburg, Mic McGrory of Indianapolis, Ind., Betty Jo Buck of North Haven, Conn., Rose Marie Hobbs of Belmont, Mass., and Walter E. Patton of Marietta; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and there will be no visitation.
