Mr. and Mrs. Steve Cowan of Washington, W.Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, April Dawn Cowan, to Scott McWilliams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam McWilliams.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Richard B. Perkins and Jennie Perkins Cline and the late Robert E. and Juna Cowan. She is a 1996 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, a 2000 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and a 2005 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg with an associate's degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at a local nursing home.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Ray and Ruth McWilliams and the late Albert Jr. and Bessie Davis. He is a 1994 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, received an associate's degree in business administration from Washington State Community College and a bachelor's degree in business administration and human resources from Walden University.

He is pursuing a master's degree in teaching and learning with technology from Ashford University and is set to graduate in February.
A wedding is planned for June 30 at the South Parkersburg Baptist Church.
