PARKERSBURG -Two people were arrested Friday for allegedly stealing $2,500 in copper wire from Frontier Communications early this month.

Larry Paul Gross, 42, and Melody Fox, 34, both of Parkersburg, were charged with one felony count each of grand larceny, said Sgt. Greg Collins, Parkersburg Police Department.

The suspects were arrested after police executed a search warrant around 2 p.m. Friday at Gross's residence, 2312 36th St. Gross and Fox allegedly sold the stolen copper wire to an area recycling center for $500, Collins said.

The theft occurred on Dec. 5 at 4200 Camden Ave. An employee of Frontier Communication noticed an unfamiliar truck speeding away from the business with copper wire in the bed.

The suspects were arraigned Friday and released on $1,000 bond each.
