Where did the past year go? It's hard to believe that I am now celebrating my one-year anniversary as the president/CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley. It has been a great, busy, exciting, exhilarating, challenging and at times, exhausting 12 months. Believe me, I wouldn't change a thing (except to have a clone and a little more time).
How do you measure if your first year in a new job has been successful? The obvious answer is you get the chance to start Year 2. But maybe the real answer is adaptability and it occurred throughout the first 365 days. I feel strongly the Chamber is in a continual process of adapting to our members' needs. We are constantly looking for opportunities to increase the importance of membership in the Chamber with value-added benefits.
With that in mind, I'm excited to share some accomplishments from the past year:
Many years ago my predecessor George Kellenberger used the phrase "Chamber members support Chamber members" and I think it holds true still today. All of the accomplishments over the past year are as a result of the support and involvement of our Chamber members. By working together we make the Mid-Ohio Valley a great place to live, work and play and the Chamber of Commerce plays a key role in making that happen.
