Bernard and Dottie Cothern celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 2.
They were married at Mount Pleasant Church by the late Rev. Howard West.
He is the son of the late Clifford and Glenna Cothern of Pettyville. He was employed for 38 years with Allegheny Power and is retired.

He still serves with the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department
She is the daughter of the late Walt and Ruth Taylor of Mineral Wells. She was employed as manager of Dudleys Flowers and is retired.
They have two sons, Michael Cothern of Port Orange, Fla., and Mark (Beth) Cothern of Mineral Wells. They have five grandchildren, Whitney, Hannah, Haley, Grayson and Jack Michael.
The family will hold a reception in the couple's honor from 2 -5 p.m. today at The Hampton Inn in Mineral Wells.
