Harold "Curly" and Julie Brown Burt celebrated their 60th anniversary.

They were married Oct. 20, 1951, in Belleville, Ill.

He is the son of the late Harold L. Sr. and Edith Hobson Burt. He retired from Union Carbide, plastics division, after 31 years of service, seven years at Taylor Woodcraft in Malta, Ohio; and nine years at the Magic Shine Car Wash in Beverly.

She is the daughter of the late Clyde and Florence Brookover Brown. She is a homemaker and certified nursing assistant, having spent several years caring for the elderly.

They are members of the Marietta Bible Center in Marietta.

The couple have three children, Susan (Mark) Martin of Vincent, Carol (Marshall) Plemons of Reno and Danny (Angela) Burt of Oak Grove.

They have eight grandchildren, Brandy (Mark) Hiener of Reno, Master Sgt. Brad (DeAnna) Burt of Whiteman Air Force Base at Warrensburg, Mo., Brett (JoAnna) Burt of Oak Grove, Jarrod (Angela) Martin of Vincent, Joshua (Jennifer) Martin of Huntersville, N.C., and Sarah (Brennan) Uthe of Crofton, Md., Grant (Kelli) Plemons of Reno, and Jessica (Steve) Parsons of Vienna.

They have nine great-grandchildren, Abigail and Aaron Hiener, Austin and Camryn Burt, Morgan Roberson, Olivia and Jaden Martin, Dawsen and Avery Plemons and three step-great-grandchildren, Kylie Kellison and Lauren and Morgan Parsons.
