Giboney-Ankrom

Cory Brandon Ankrom and Samantha Jean Giboney were united in marriage Aug. 20 at The Comfort Inn Hotel in Marietta. Pastor Tim Nicols, a longtime friend of the family and pastor of Gods Glory at St. Marys, officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Jeannie Giboney of St. Marys. She is the granddaughter of Pauline Smith and Marvin Sunderman of St. Marys, the late Lennis and Emma Giboney and the late Dallas "Gene" Satterfield.

The groom is the son of Skip and Tobie Ankrom Ours of Waverly, and Mark Richards of Cairo. He is the grandson of Beatrice Dalton of St. Marys, Steve Ankrom of New Martinsville and Inez and the late Emmett Richards of Cairo.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless white gown adorned with crystals with a bow in the front and a laced up corset back with a long train.

Samantha Smith, best friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Emma "Katie" Taylor, sister of the bride and Hanah Richards, sister of the groom. Flower girl was Jaidyn Giboney, sister of the bride, who dropped tiffany blue flowers. The bridal party all wore black strapless dresses and carried bouquets with white lilies and white roses with tiffany blue bows made by friend Vickie Binegar.

Austin Richards, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Miller and Nathan Pybus, friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Brenden Westbrook, nephew of the bride. The groomsmen wore black dress shirts, black dress pants and tiffany blue ties. The ring bearer wore black pants, a white dress shirt and a black tie. All of the groomsmen wore boutineers with white lilies and tiffany blue ribbon made by Binegar.

The groom wore his USMC "dress blues."

After the ceremony, a reception with a buffet-style dinner and dance was held in the Marie Antoinette Ballroom at the Comfort Inn.

The ballroom was decorated with linens and centerpieces in their colors of black, white, tiffany blue and a black and white demask pattern. The three-tier wedding cake was decorated in white, black and tiffany blue and topping the cake was the couple's initials.

The bride is a 2008 graduate of St. Marys High School and has been employed by REM Community Options in St. Marys for three years as a DSP.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of St. Marys High School. He is in the United States Marine Corps and is stationed in Quantico, Va.

The couple reside in Stafford, Va.
