Sheila and Dennis Lankford of Marietta are celebrating their 50th anniversary. They were married Aug. 27, 1961, at Trinity Methodist Church in Marietta by Rev. Norman C. Copley.
Mrs. Lankford is the daughter of the late Dennis and Clara Burchett and Mr. Lankford is the son of the late Harry and Edna Lankford. Mr. Lankford has been employed his entire career at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home where Mrs. Lankford is also employed.
The couple has two sons, Eric (Pamela) and Kyle (Megan) Lankford, both of Marietta.
They also have three grandchildren, Maddie, Kamden and Gretchen Lankford.
The couple celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Walt Disney World with their children and grandchildren.
They had a special recognition at the Illuminations Dinner at Epcot with a reminiscence of their courtship and an anniversary dance.
