Richard and Joyce Gherke celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 4 at Summitt Valley United Methodist Church.
They were united in marriage in 1961 by the Rev. Hayward Gribble at the 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church.
He is the son of the late Pauline Coulter and Witt Gherke.

She is the daughter of the late Martin and Theda Hammer.
They have four children, Rita Chichester, Mark (Alicia) Gherke, Pat (Amy) Gherke and Bill (Tanya) Gherke. They have eight grandchildren, Jenni, Stephen, Josh, Danielle, Tyler, Allison, Jessica, and Bayley; and five great-grandchildren, Tori, Addison, Jocelynn, Amelia and Cooper.
