Claude and Sharon White of Parkersburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 21. The couple was married in 1961 by Rev. Gerald Maynard at the Presbyterian church in Glenville.
They are the parents of three daughters, Connie (Edwin) Staats of Ravenswood, Kim (Tom) Long of Ravenswood and Pam Piggott of Parkersburg. They have five grandchildren, Jennifer Staats Long of Ravenswood, Beth Staats Carrodus of Parkersburg, Jon Long of Ravenswood, Chelsea Long of Ravenswood and Blake Piggott of Parkersburg. They are the great-grandparents of Calli Long and Addison Long of Ravenswood and C.J. Carrodus and Austin Carrodus of Parkersburg.
Mr. White is the son of the late Claude and Mae Brady White of Baldwin. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Shell Chemical with 35 years of service. Mrs. White is the daughter of the late Shirley and Rema Wright Wilfong of Glenville. She worked part-time as a bookkeeper. They are both longtime members of Calvary Memorial Church in Parkersburg.
