Jennifer Lynn Carman and Dr. John Moncure Daniel IV were married June 4 at St. James Episcopal Church in Richmond, Va. The Rev. Randolph M. Hollerith officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. Carman Jr. of Vienna. She is the grandaughter of Addie R. Fields of Fleming, Ohio, the late Don E. Fields, Mildred Jean Carman of Oceanside, N.Y., and the late Earl C. Carman Sr.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Daniel III of Richmond, Va. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Abel Howell of Conway, S.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Daniel Jr.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Her maid of honor was Katie Riedo and her matron of honor was Joyce Bennett, both friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Joanne Stacy, cousin of the bride, and Anastasia Kharlamova and Tammy Slenn, friends of the bride. John M. Daniel was his son's best man. Groomsmen were Alex Daniel, brother of the groom; Jason Carman, brother of the bride; and Dr. Bernard Tawfik and Keller Staubs, friends of the groom.
The rehersal dinner was given by the groom's parents at the Commonwealth Club in Richmond and the wedding reception was held at the Tuchahoe Woman's Club.
The bride graduated from the University of Richmond in 2007 with bachelor's degrees in chemistry and classical civilizations. In 2009, she received a master's degree in organic chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is an adjunct instructor of chemistry and math at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem, N.C. In the fall, she will attend the University of South Carolina to pursue a doctorate in education with an emphasis on curriculum studies.
The groom graduated from the University of Richmond in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He graduated from Wake Forest School of Medicine in 2011 with a doctorate of medicine. He is a resident physician in pediatrics at the University of South Carolina.
After a honeymoon in West Palm Beach, Fla., the couple will reside in Columbia, S.C.
